annibal, who has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Nottingham Trent University and holds a Personal Management Licence that conforms to the UK Gambling Act 2005, will be responsible for helping operators and stakeholders to identify those rules that are stifling their chances of success and to flag them up through the easy-to-access dedicated website www.redtapechallenge.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/home/index.
Accepting the invitation, Peter Hannibal said: "The Red Tape Challenge was launched by the Prime Minister a year ago and I'm delighted to be able to help facilitate the process in relation to UK gambling and leisure. For the next three weeks we have the opportunity to name and shame the regulations we want to see scrapped. The ministers responsible for them will then have to justify each rule and, where the case for their existence cannot be justified, consign them to the scrapheap. My role as the appointed gambling sector champion is to provide my insight on the issues faced by those at the coal face and to act as an intermediary between the gambling and leisure industry and government and help to direct the debate. I would urge everyone who has a view on red tape to visit the website and/or contact me and be part of the process."
Hannibal serves as Gambling Executive for the strategic body Business In Sport & Leisure and Simon Johnson, CEO of BISL said: "I'm delighted that Peter has been invited to champion what is a really important issue for our members and the gambling industry at large. With a detailed and hands-on knowledge of the industry gained working with a range of gambling organisations of all sizes, he is ideally qualified to represent the sector."
