(Macau).- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau has finally issued the first set of Macau-specific technical standards for electronic gaming machines. The new rules have already been sent to relevant companies and will soon become available on the regulator’s website, GamingCompliance reported.

The new rules came into effect last Friday, February 3rd, but a grace period applies until October 1. The regulations have been in preparation for more than a year.

Among the new rules, it is stated that “any electronic gaming machine [that] plays a game that is recognisable to be a simulation of a live casino game … must have an identical RTP [return to player rate]”.
