(Peru).- Congresswoman Luciana Leon indicated that the approved Online Control Law on Slots was created so that all the casinos and gambling venues may incorporate a software and hardware system with the aim that, in a quick way, they can control the income generated by slot machines.

León indicated that there are 700 casinos and slots and that it is important that they count with a real time control system so Mincetur and Sunat may control them.

The legislator pointed that those venues pay taxes according to what they declare, and currently there is not an auditing of what has been bet in slots.

Leon assured that a six-month deadline has been given to the operators so they may implement this technology of income control, which will enable more collection by Sunat. She also said that 10% of the collection will be allocated to the Peruvian Sports Institute with the aim to support youth. Leon indicated that there are currently 70 companies bringing recreational slots services with a real taxation system. Besides, she mentioned that it is not necessary that the team working on casinos and slot halls is trained, because the system is very easy ti use.

It will come into force immediately next year. Leon also explained that this type of software and hardware is being used in Las Vegas and in many cities worldwide.
