OpenBet will be showcasing its latest suite of games created under the recently announced partnership with Matchroom Sport, World Snooker Limited and Professional Darts Corporation. Launched in conjunction with the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship and The Masters Snooker, the games include darts and snooker-themed titles and feature sports personalities such as 15-time World Champion, Phil “The Power” Taylor and snooker legend, Ronnie O’Sullivan. OpenBet invites the industry to its stand at ICE Totally Gaming in London, to meet Barry Hearn, Chairman of Matchroom Sport, and Phil Taylor.
To mark the event, OpenBet will be hosting a competition on Tuesday 24 January that will allow visitors to the stand to challenge Phil Taylor to a game of darts under the watchful eye of official PDC referee, George Noble. To qualify for the event, visitors have to play your hand at darts on OpenBet’s stand 5165 before 3pm on Tuesday. Then, once qualified, visitors can challenge Phil Taylor himself between 3pm and 5pm on the stand and win various prizes and sporting memorabilia.
The PDC darts games are the first in a long pipeline of new online casino content to come from the world exclusive agreement with Matchroom Sport. Games have already been taken by key operators in the market, including Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Betfair, William Hill and Victor Chandler.
Phil “The Power” Taylor, World Darts Champion, said: “OpenBet has done a fantastic job at taking our sport and producing a game that not only looks great but has strong appeal to the millions of customers that visit gaming websites. We are very proud of this agreement and I look forward to showcasing our games and defending my honour against everyone willing to challenge me at ICE.”
David Loveday, CEO of OpenBet, commented: “Our world exclusive licence agreement with Matchroom Sport enables OpenBet to produce some fantastic new content for our customers. The PDC darts games have been well received and we are pleased at the level of interest we have had from operators across the board. This is only the first in a long pipeline of new themed content and we are looking forward to launching many new games in 2012.”
