(Malta).- The ruling Nationalist Party government for Malta has launched a competitive public tender process for the right to operate its National Lottery for the next decade from 2012.

The existing National Lottery concession in Malta is held by Maltco Lotteries, in which Athens-based gaming and transaction processing systems developer and supplier Intralot holds a 73 % shareholding, and covers all games previously run by the nation’s Public Lotto Department

The remaining 27 % of Maltco Lotteries is owned by a group of Maltese businessmen and any new tender will cover games including Super 5 and the National Lottery alongside instant scratchcards, U*Bet fixed-odds betting and horseracing, Quick Keno and Bingo75.
