Global Gaming Expo examines growth and innovation in gaming

(US).- G2E 2011 continues today 5 with more than 425 companies represented, including over 70 international exhibitors from 25 different countries, offering an inside look at the latest gaming innovations, with 3,716 sqm of exhibits.

n addition to the main show room floor exhibits, various thought-provoking seminars and panels will take place throughout the day including the State of the Industry address that will feature for the first time an all-women gaming panel.

Keynote panel
On the second day of G2E 2011 a collection of gaming industry luminaries will discuss the trends driving the industry forward and how to use innovation and technology to meet the challenges that lie ahead, including global expansion, the replacement cycle, operations developments etc. In conjunction with a new initiative by the American Gaming Association to increase the participation of women in the industry, the panel also will discuss the role of women in gaming. Moderated by Judy Patterson, Senior Vice President & Executive Director of the American Gaming Association (AGA), the State of the Industry will take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Titan ballroom.

The panel will include Jan L. Jones, Senior Vice President, Communications & Government Relations, Caesars Entertainment Corporation; Virginia McDowell, President & CEO, Isle of Capri Casinos; Patti Hart, CEO, International Game Technology (IGT); Sheila Morago, Executive Director, Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association; Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources/Corporate Social Responsibility Officer, Melco Crown Entertainment.

Conference keynote address
Today, October 5, from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in the Titian Ballroom, James J. Murren, chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International, will deliver a thought-provoking keynote address on where the industry is today, what growth opportunities exist and what it means for the gaming industry. Additionally, Murren will discuss the significance of MGM Resorts International’s expanded focus on corporate social responsibility. 

Celebrities
A few celebrities will be attending this year’s G2E, including original goodfella Henry Hill at the Fremont Street Experience and poker star Lacy Jones and model Victoria Fuller at the IGT booth (number 2241). On Tuesday, Jones will be at IGT from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Fuller will be signing autographs from noon to 2 p.m.

In addition to celebrities, the Las Vegas Philharmonic will be performing some of Elvis’ hit classic songs at the IGT booth at 10:15a.m., 11:45a.m. and 1:45p.m.

F&B at G2E: Food and beverages reign supreme at the Global Gaming Expo. The F&B pavilion features gourmet food and beverage items, food service equipment and supplies, technology, décor and other products essential to the delivery of an outstanding casino experience. This year’s show highlights culinary skill, creative excellence and a sizzling presentation of industry fashion.

AGA communications awards
This networking lunch is focused on marketing and communications and will feature the AGA Communications Awards. In today's fast paced and ultra-competitive marketplace, it's no longer enough to simply inform your customers, investors or employees — your communications have to captivate them.
