(Portugal).- Aristocrat Technologies announced its Viridian WS (widescreen) games have been approved for operation in Portugal and the first games have now been installed at Casino da Póvoa.

P

ortuguese players in Póvoa now have access to a range of its widescreen games including Multi Mega Pay games Gazellions and Fortune Fantasy, More Chilli and More Hearts (both Mega Pay) and 100 Line games Sirena’s Gold and Wild Splash.

Located in Póvoa de Varzim, in the north of the country, Casino da Póvoa is owned and operated by the Estoril Sol Group, which also has premium venues in Lisbon and Estoril, near the capital. The casino’s Slot Floor Manager, José Fernando Silva, said the company has been very impressed by the performance of Aristocrat games.

“Aristocrat’s 50 Lions, 100 Lions and Wild Panda averages continue to rank among the highest on our floor,” he explained. “We also offer our customers plenty of variety with standalone games including Pelican Pete, Heart of Gold and Buccaneer, alongside progressives such as Zorro, Mr Woo and Big Ben as well as the Xtreme Mystery progressive linked jackpot theme Wild Africa.”

He concluded: “It’s always exciting to introduce new concepts on the floor, even more when you know your customers are getting the experience first.”

Aristocrat Senior Regional Sales Manager, Damien Greig highlighted Portugal as one of Aristocrat’s key territories in Europe. “These approvals represent a significant step in our drive to bring new and thrilling gaming experiences to the market,” he said. “We can now look forward to other casino groups following Póvoa’s lead and extending Aristocrat’s widescreen reach to even more players across the country.”
