(Italy).- The AAMS (Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopolio di Stato) of Italy released the online gaming information until June 30, 2011. Internet modalities comprise sportsbooks, horse racing, instant lotteries, contests and jackpots, skill games, SuperEnalotto and SuperStar, bingo and Win for Life. Of all the formats, the only one which had positive results during the mentioned period was bingo.

The most affected discipline by the current international crisis has been instant lottery, with a -32%. In April it reached a -39.8% compared to the same period last year. It has meant passing from 5,694,228 euros in 2010 to 3,429,696 euros in 2011.

On the contrary, bingo is experimenting an increment of 91.7%. The best month was February, with a 130.5% increment thanks to the 17,490,751 euros. In the same month last period, 7,587,251 euros have been registered. This year, gaming has left a total collection of 108.357.330 euros for the 146.141.067 euros on the 12 months of 2010.

Another revealing data is represented by a decreasing trend in sportsbooks. Italy, a country with a big interest in football, does not show the same enthusiasm for football betting in Internet. June experimented a reduction of 48.6% (100,184.46 euros in 2010 and 51.434,432 in 2011). In the first semester of the year, there was a differential of -16,8%.

The second half of the year is expected to improve statistics that are far below the most optimistic forecasts.
