(Exclusive, Macau).- Lee Weyers, VP of Global Gaming of TransAct, highlights the presence of the company at upcoming G2E Asia, where the company will demonstrate its industry leading TITO printer, the Epic 950 and its newly launched promotional printing solution, the Epicentral Print System. He also talks about the strategies of the firm for the Asian market.


hat are your expectations and objectives for G2E Asia?
We’re pleased to be exhibiting at G2E Asia 2011 as this region represents a major opportunity for TransAct. Our team in Macau continues to win new openings, expand our business and grow our market presence in the Asia Pacific region.  G2E Asia provides the ideal environment for us to interact with our customers, raise product and brand awareness and reinforce our commitment to the world's leading Gaming Market. During the show, we will demonstrate our industry leading TITO printer, the Epic 950 and our newly launched promotional printing solution, the Epicentral Print System.

Will the firm launch new products focused on the Asian market? Which are their main features?
G2E Asia is the premier Asian platform for showcasing TransAct’s award winning products. On display will be our high-quality Epic 950 casino ticket printer, the Epic 880 roll-fed gaming printer, and of course the Epicentral Print System. Our transaction printers are known for their high quality, innovative features and extreme reliability in the toughest of market conditions. The Asian markets have embraced the Epic family of printers and we’re excited to be able to demonstrate their winning features at the show.

Our latest product to be introduced at this G2E Asia will be our Epicentral Print System for printing marketing promotions directly to players while they are playing at the machines. Epicentral was very well received by the international Gaming industry at G2E and ICE. Based on early market feedback, we expect the Macau operators will be just as excited to see and experience this technology first hand, at Asia G2E.

Which trends do you expect to see this year at the show?
We anticipate that we will see strong visitation from operators from all over Asia and Australia. We also expect to see more evidence that Global Multi- property operators are seeing the end of the global economic downturn and are now more confident in the future. More confidence in the future means that operators are ready to invest in their operations again.

How important is Macau's market for your company?
We are extremely pleased with the new and ongoing business local team in Macau led by Andrew Hanley, VP of International Sales, continue to win. Macau and the Asian market as a whole will continue to be very important to TransAct. Moving forward we are very pleased and excited with the growth that is happening and we are in a great position to truly partner with our customers as they position themselves to communicate with players at the slot machine with promotional coupons.

Macau is currently considered the leading international gaming market surpassing Las Vegas. Do you think that it is a market with options to keep on growing?
Absolutely. With expansions planned through 2014 and quite possibly beyond, many of the players in the industry share this view.   May 2011 should produce another Macau earnings record.   So we feel that Macau has succeeded in solidifying itself as a leader in the international gaming market for the foreseeable future.

As operators from different Asian countries visit G2E in Macau, which is your strategy for the Asian market in general?
The Asian Gaming industry continues to grow and TransAct has taken measures to position itself as a partner with a true local presence. TransAct has had a local sales office for several years now and in 2010 expanded to include technical sales and support.  We feel like that this is an important step in working closely with casino customers, game manufactures and systems providers to deliver the best possible solutions to the Asian market.
