“Entering in Mexico is a great opportunity for VGT”

Yogonet interviewed Alberto Mendoza, Director of Sales of the company for Mexico, who highlighted the main qualities of VGT catalogue.

hat products did you present in ELA?
We are presenting a very interesting platform called WOW´s, which means “Wilds On Wilds.” The main feature of this product is that it has many wild cards in all the reels. It means that sometimes there are more wild cards than jackpots. The idea is that the game is more fun for customers. Besides, we improved the graphics and the sound system.

Is it the first time you present this product in Mexico?
Yes, last year we exhibited a similar platform in terms of resolution; it is the result of the effort we made with the aim to be closer to the needs of the Mexican market and players’ tastes. The booth that VGT presented in ELA meant a challenge in technology, and it faces the industry with regards to more and more demanding market needs.
 
What is the importance of Mexico for VGT?
It is a very important market. In the last five years, it has grown a lot. The market incursion in Mexico is a great opportunity for VGT, because, from there, we can jump to other internacional platforms with a more stable force and with a wider knowledge of the Latin American market.

What is the advantage to have relations with VGT as provider?
On top of becoming providers, VGT, as partner of its customers, seeks that these, as well as the players, also have fun. The additional services that the company offers are included in the negotiations and take advantage from the technical to the commercial area, defining itself as an holistic service.

Which are the most attractive points of VGT machines, for a market like this, which is every time more open to a greater number of brands after accepting Class III?
The strong points we have in the company reside in the fact that we provide first-quality technical service, and our technicians are available 24/7, and the fact that a part of our sales is re-invested in the promotions performed in casinos. I think this is VGT differential. Besides, people want our machines to have much dynamism.
 
Which was the evaluation of the two-day event?
We are very happy. We managed to close very important contracts, one of them, with one of the largest companies in Mexico. It was worth to be in ELA 2011.
 
In what other events of the region will you exhibit?
VGT United States is not interested in opening new markets yet. First, we want to establish in Mexico and then, we wish to enter in the Latin American market.
