Johannes Weissengruber, founder and CEO of APEX gaming, comments, “Naturally our expectations of breaking into this market were different to current reality. We cannot influence this due to the sheer length of time it is taking for approvals to come through.

“The Italian market is demanding the gaming solutions from APEX gaming and we are very confident that our games will be a great hit amongst Italian players, just as they are in a whole host of separate countries,” he added.

The Italian VLT market is developing more slowly than anticipated. The number of VLT’s in operation is well below the number expected last year. Even though the operators have invested EUR 15,000 per machine licence, it seems they are purposely waiting to find the correct locations. Secondly, the Italian test body is inundated with machines to test and this is slowing the certification process down very much. It is this second factor that has prevented players to date in Italy from enjoying playing on the APEX gaming VLT’s.

APEX gaming is committed to the Italian VLT market and successes in various VLT markets around Europe mean that the gaming content and machine design are an excellent fit for the Italian VLT market. This is coupled with all the system requirements to operate APEX gaming VLT’s that are all in operation.
