Spain: Online gaming law would be approved in June

(Spain) .- During a recent event organized by Codere Foundation in Valencia, under the topic "Management regulation of online game", Juan Carlos Alfonso, Director of Coordination of Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (LAE), announced that the new law will be approved in June.

A

t the same time, he denied rumours saying that available licenses would be five, and mentioned that operators will be "between 30 and 50", number indicated by the size of the online gaming market in Spain.

Alfonso also highlighted the establishment of a regulatory body "Policy Board Game" that will allow "greater clarification of the sector and homogenization of policies between the regions and the state."

Another objective of the new law, besides regulating economic transactions resulting from the games, is to protect groups at risk "as children, addictions and freezing of funds." The law does not retroactively affect the sports sponsorship of online companies with sports bodies "since it was signed before the draft law."
