The launch was facilitated by the passage of New Jersey Senate Bill S-12, designed to revitalize the gaming and tourism industries in Atlantic City under a provision in the bill called “New Jersey First,” which enabled the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) to approve Hot Spin in a record 14 days from date of submission.

Bally Technologies is the first gaming manufacturer to take advantage of the “New Jersey First” provision, and Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City is the first casino in the state to realize the benefit of introducing Hot Spin to casino patrons before it is installed anywhere else in the United States.

“We are excited to debut Hot Spin at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, not only because the casino is located in a market that is so important to us, but also because of the rewarding teamwork that made the launch happen,” said Gavin Isaacs, COO of Bally. “Hot Spin is a follow-up game to our player favorite Cash Spin, but takes the excitement to a whole new level by allowing players to choose their play style.”

Hot Spin represents an evolution in Bally’s U-Spin technology, introduced in the award-winning and phenomenally successfully Cash Spin. It is a three-reel, 27-line game on Bally’s long, lean, and attention-grabbing ALPHA Elite V32 cabinet. Using the touch screen, players can spin a virtual bonus wheel as if it were a real wheel, thanks to the U-Spin play mechanic. Sound effects mimic the familiar clacking sound of a wheel slowing down, and every wedge on the wheel is a winner.

But the most exciting innovation is the Hot Spin feature itself, which allows players to determine how often they will get the Hot Spin Wheel Feature and how much they’ll have the opportunity to win when wagering max bet. Once credits are in the machine, and before spinning the reels, players pick one of six reel symbols. The symbol and bet level they choose triggers the prizes on each wedge of the game’s giant touch-screen wheel to change.

Players who like a lot of time on device and more frequent, but less lucrative wins, will choose one of the symbols on the left side of touch-screen display, while those players who seek larger but less frequent wins will select one of the symbols to the right.

“We were particularly pleased to have been the first gaming manufacturer to take advantage of ‘New Jersey First’, the new initiative which empowers the DGE to approve and get games on the state’s casino floors more quickly, enabling Bally to get Hot Spin to players in the Garden State first before we launch the game nationwide later this month,” Isaacs added.
