WGB: Free conference passes for start-up companies

(Malta).- This year’s World Gambling Briefing, run by Clarion Gaming, will be offering free conference passes for new start-up organizations from all over the world. A limited number of passes are available for those operators yet to receive a gaming license.

Gaining the most up-to-date regulatory updates is critical to established businesses, but as a start-up it’s even more important to understand the lay of the land in terms of what you can and cannot do in Europe and the rest of the World,” comments Mark Walker.

“This is why we want to invite a limited number of start-ups to attend WGB for free, to give them the best possible start in their business, and it reflects our long-term commitment to foster innovation in the gaming industry through initiatives like this and others such as the EiG LaunchPad.”

Building on the success of its six previous years, the World Gambling Briefing is growing even bigger, covering the changing legislation from over 20 different countries. This year’s conference is headlined by Jean Bergevin, Head of Units at the European Commission, who will be discussing regulation at an EU level and the possibility of limited mutual recognition between member states.

The leading event for legislation in the gaming industry, WGB is the perfect event for both established and start-up operators. Roger Parkes, Head of Regulatory Compliance at Betfair described WGB as, “An excellent forum to hear from regulators and industry leaders on current issues and future trends. Especially beneficial for operators contemplating the increasing complexities of European and Global jurisdictional regulation and technological change.” Betfair themselves will be presenting an Eastern European workshop on the commercial benefits of entering into this quickly emerging market.

Alongside Betfair, the highest caliber of legal experts, regulators and operators will be speaking at this year’s conference including:

Magnus Silfverberg, CEO, Betsson Malta (Malta); Matthias Hein, CEO, Spielbanken (Germany); Armin Karu, CEO, Olympic Casinos (Israel); Paolo Di Feo, CEO, Gioco Digitale (Italy); Jan Jones-Blackhurst, Vice President, Communications and Government Relations, Caesars Entertainment (US).

The World Gambling Briefing will give delegates tangible information on the latest legislative changes from around the world to take-away and practically implement throughout 2011 and to develop their commercial strategy. With so much legislative changes around the world, especially in Europe, the two conference days are packed to the brim with information and content.

Sponsored by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority Malta for a second year running, this year’s conference also focuses heavily on industry networking opportunities ensuring delegates can make the most of this premier stand-out event.
