GTECH announced senior management promotions and jurisdictional realignments

(US).- Alan Eland has been promoted to Senior Vice President and COO of GTECH North America and Declan Harkin has been promoted to Senior Vice President and COO of GTECH International.

“With their depth of business knowledge and experience, Alan and Declan will have greater involvement and responsibility for customer satisfaction and growth in key strategic markets,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “The alignment of our senior management team by specific geography enables GTECH to better develop an integrated, cohesive approach to best meet customer needs and market demands. I am confident that both of these seasoned leaders will rise to the challenge of their new responsibilities.”

As Senior Vice President and COO of GTECH North America, Alan Eland is responsible for lottery operations in the United States, Canada, GTECH Printing Corporation (GPC), and Client Services.

Beginning his career at GTECH in 1985, Eland has held various roles of increasing responsibility throughout his 26 years with the Company. Prior to his current role as Senior Vice President of the Americas, he was Vice President and General Manager for our Gaming Solutions organization where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of SPIELO.

Prior to that role, Eland managed GTECH’s largest region from 1998 to 2005, serving as Regional Vice President, Eastern U.S. Operations. Eland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Education from Ohio State University.

As Senior Vice President and COO of GTECH International, Declan Harkin is responsible for lottery operations in Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific.

Harkin began working at GTECH in 1997 and has more than 25 years experience in gaming and professional IT service sectors. Harkin progressed through increasing levels of responsibility in software engineering project management, business development, customer account management and general management.

He has served as Vice President of GTECH Commercial Services and Regional Operations Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining GTECH, Harkin held various management roles for Electronic Data Systems in Europe and Australia. Harkin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic and Information Engineering from Queens University in Belfast and an Organizational Learning Certificate from MIT.

GTECH also expanded its senior management team to focus more attention on key markets. Federico Tasso is now Senior Vice President of Market Development, focusing on a number of important growth opportunities. As Vice President of Latin America and the Caribbean, Erik Dyson will continue to be responsible for operating and developing GTECH’s business in the region. Christopher Caldwell has been appointed Vice President of Business Development. These positions report to Mr. Patel.
