Horse racing, greyhound racing and sportsbooks also increased their revenues

A good 2010 for extra-casino gaming in Macau

(Macau).- It was not only the casino industry that had a year to remember in Macau in 2010. Almost all the extra-casino gaming activities posted revenues increases. Horse racing posted gross revenue of us$ 54.88 in 2010, a 31.83 % year-on-year increase. Greyhound racing revenue also went up last year, by 3.98 %, to us$ 41.5 million.

revenue surge took place on sports betting too. In soccer, due to the World Cup, 2010 gross gaming revenue went up by 36.2 %, to us$ 46.4 million. In basketball, gaming revenue reached us$ 9.6 million, a 14.49 % jump. As for Chinese lottery, revenue stayed put year-on-year at us$ 733,505.

Revenues only dropped slightly in instant lottery, whose results are negligible in Macau’s overall gaming industry, not even reaching us$ 122,251 per year.
