Baccarat accounts for 90.5 % of casino revenues in Macau in 2010

(Macau).- The two main casino games in Macau – low stakes baccarat and baccarat for high-rollers (VIP) - last year accounted for 90.5 % of total gross gaming and gambling revenues, officials said in Macau.

According to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB), the two types of baccarat provided revenues of us$ 4.2 billion for low stakes baccarat and us$ 16.5 billion for high roller baccarat in a year in which gross casino gaming revenues totalled us$ 23 billion.

In third place on the list, but by a great distance, were slot machines, which generated revenue of 1 billion, followed by "cussec" with us$ 434.6 billion, blackjack with 279 million and stud poker with 129.6 million.

In 2010, total gross revenues from gaming and gambling were us$ 23.698 billion, with horse and greyhound racing and lotteries accounting for 152.2 million, or 0.6 % of the total.

At the end of 2010, there were 33 casinos in Macau, 20 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, three by Venetian Macau, five by Galaxy Casino, three by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau) and one each by Wynn Resorts and MGM Grand Paradise.
