Revenues in the first nine months of 2010 largely surpassed the total for the entire year of 2009, when gamblers left us$ 15.047 billion in Macau casinos. In September alone, casino gambling’s gross revenues were us$ 1.912 billion, 39.8 % more than in September 2009.
Gross revenues from casino gambling accounted for 99.28 % of revenue from all kinds of games from January to September. Horse and greyhound racing, Chinese and instant lotteries, along with football and basketball sports lotteries added a further 117.1 million to an overall total of us$ 16.773 billion.
From January to September, baccarat and VIP baccarat brought in us$ 14.7 billion (90 % of gross casino gambling revenues), while slot machines brought in us$ 763 million.
At the end of September there were 33 casinos in Macau, distributed as follows: Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (20), Galaxy Casino (5), Venetian Macau (3), Wynn Resorts (Macau) (1), Melco Crown Jogos (Macau) (3) and MGM Grand Paradise (1).
