Manel Lao Gorina has spoken during the official presentation of the new casino of this company in Valencia, that counted with the assistance of representatives of the political and business class of Valencia.
During the inauguration of the complex, which opened its doors last August, Cirsa vicepresident has assured that the casino will become "one of the identity signs of the city", and has predicted that it will soon consolidate "as a reference for the whole Europe".
Despite the casino started operating two months ago in the city, in which its facilities received almost 50,000 visitors, last week it took place the official inauguration.
These numbers are “beyond the expectations of the company" and show the "touristic potential” of a casino "called to boost the leisure offer of Valencia" thanks to its 8,000 sqm of facilities that operate 17 hours a day, indicated sources of Cirsa.
Lao Gorina has remarked Cirsa collaboration with the Administration and the Council of Valencia "in these difficult times of economic crisis". In his view, local and regional governments “have understood that the casino will be an important contribution to the growth of the city and the whole Community of Valencia”.
Since its opening, it has organized international poker tournaments that have attracted players from 98 countries, which means a 35% of the casino visitors.
From now on, Cirsa plans to receive every year between ten and twelve national and international poker tournaments, that will generate an “important economic benefit· for connected business, such as hotels, taxis, restaurants or leisure centers.
According to estimations of the company, almost 2,000 players from outside the city will assist every year to the tournaments, with a three-day average of stay in the city and a minimum expense of 300 euros per person and per day.
The contribution of poker in the casino to sectors such as hostelling and transport "is around the 2 million euros during the first year", has pointed the Manager of Cirsa Casinos in Valencia, Antonio Maeso.
