“We want to protect the procedures completely”, said the director of the institution

Mexican Lottery joins the WLA Certification

(Mexico).- The National Lottery for Public Assistance counts with the Norm ISO/27000 and decided to join the WLA Certification performed by the World Lottery Association, in order to protect the procedures of its draws and bring confidence and security to the users, affirmed the general director of this institution, Benjamín González Roaro.

We have agreed with the World Lottery Association to incorporate the lottery to the  Certification of the World Lottery Association, so our draws are even more protected", he added.
The National Lottery already counts with the Norm ISO/27000, that allows flexibility to each institution for the verification processes to be in accordance with its needs and activities.

This way, as a result of the debates of the recent International Seminar held in the Port of Acapulco, Mexico, with the assistance of 80 delegates of Lotteries of the State from 25 countries, an unanimous commitment was made in order to establish, as a certification diagram, the Norm ISO/27000, which contains specific aspects for the State Lotteries, the same that is being applied and sanctioned by the Committee of Security and Risk Management of the World Lottery Association WLA/SRC.
In this sense, he mentioned that the certification of State Lotteries in Integrity Systems is the key mechanism to assure that both traditional and online lotteries may have their systems perfectly protected.

When talking about the security mechanisms in the production and distribution of bills, González Roaro explained that a few State Lotteries worldwide “count with tickets as secure as ours, with so many security codes, of which some of them are invisible and are just seen through special lights or are read with specific appliances, but also count with other visible codes.”
