(Macau).- Playboy Enterprises will launch two entertainment and gambling facilities in Macau, under a joint licensing agreement with the Las Vegas Sands Corp, giving the iconic US leisure and entertainment brand a stake in the world's biggest gambling hub.

Plans are to open a Playboy-inspired club by year-end on the top level of the Sands Macao. The 1,144 sqm club will feature entertainment and gambling facilities geared towards high rollers, as well as Playboy Bunnies and Playboy artwork. A 2,787 sqm Playboy Mansion is slated to be housed in the giant hotel and gambling complex Sands is building on the Cotai Strip, a zone located on an outlying island that takes its design themes from the Las Vegas Strip.

The second club is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2012. Shares of the U.S. gaming group's Chinese subsidiary, Sands China Ltd., were up 3.5% in mid-morning trade in Hong Kong.

The 2,787 sqm Playboy Mansion Macao will be modeled after the Hugh Hefner's legendary Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles. It will have bars, lounges, nightclub, gaming and retail stores. The Mansion, to be built on parcels on Macao's Cotai Strip, is slated to open in the first quarter of 2012.
