The firm scrapped a deal to develop and manage the Foxwoods Casino

Wynn Resorts will bid on Foxwoods License

(US).- After abruptly pulling out of a “done deal” with the Mashantucket Pequot tribe Steve Wynn of Wynn Resorts says he is still interested in pursuing another bid for the Philadelphia casino license should it become available.

The gaming opportunities in Pennsylvania were interesting and stimulating but the particular deal we were in became unattractive to us,” Wynn said “We backed out of (that) deal more than we backed out of Pennsylvania.”

Last month the gaming company scrapped a deal to develop and manage the Foxwoods Casino which has been tangled up in political controversy and financial troubles since it was first approved in 2006.

Pennsylvania regulators have begun the process to revoke the license on the Foxwoods development, which may pave the way for Wynn to enter the market in a deal that is completely their own.
