he delivery of the certificate was held last January 18, 2010, in the facilities of the Entity of Certification, with the presence of its General Director Carlos Pérez and General Director of Grupo Amusgo, S. R.L. of C.V. and representative of the Slovenian brand in Mexico, Damijan Plecko.
It also counted with the presence of the President of the Association of Games and Draws Licensees, Alfonso Pérez Lizaur; the Manager of Operations of Services for TI of NYCE, J. Salvador Sánchez; Mariano Hernández as representative of Grupo Caliente –owner of the casinos where the certification was held; representatives of Grupo Amusgo, Yeshua Martínez and Alfredo Lazcano, and Carlos Sanz, representative of casino operator Codere.
This certificate, the first of its kind, becomes a hinge of this industry, and after more than two years of normalization work related to equipment for games and draws, of the creation of an infraestructure to evaluate the approval in accordance with a voluntary diagram, and combat unfair competition of some licensees and operators. At last, a company committed with the compliance of the legal frame in force was willing to be evaluated, based in the Mexican Norm NMX-I-209-NYCE gaming devices in casinos and obtaining the certification for its machines.
During the ceremony, Carlos Pérez declared “I am honoured to be the one that, on behalf of NYCE, delivers this first certificate for the gaming industry in Mexico, and I want to congratulate Damijan, for having led his company Grupo Amusgo, to achieve it and be pioneer in that sector. This is a very promising start for an industry that is expanding and consolidating in Mexico; NYCE has worked side by side with licensees, operators and manufacturers, and will continue doing so”.
Besides, Damijan Plecko said: “I am very happy for having been the first in receiving this certificate and I am grateful with NYCE for being visionary in the normalization of the Mexican entertainment market”.
Alfonso Pérez Lizaur thanked Alfastreet for taking the important decision of obtaining a certification, NYCE for having had the patience for this process to start in the county and Codere as an avant-garde operator, for having invited Alfastreet.
“Today it concludes an effort that started several years ago, which represents to have successfully achieved the first phase of this big project, and although it is important for NYCE to have reached that goal, it is even more important its continuity, which requires the effort of companies such as Grupo Amusgo, which have bet to the compliance of the Mexican norms, to gain the confidence of the user and assure him that it uses gaming devices that assure that the draw is random”, pointed J. Salvador Sánchez, Manager of Operation of Services for TI of NYCE and responsible of the certification process.
Finally, Carlos Sanz representative of Codere and pioneer of the online entertainment industry in Mexico, expressed: ”for me, this fact is like watching the graduation of a son; I had my first approach with homologations and certifications more than 30 years ago in Spain, and once I came to Mexico expecting this, I had to wait 22 years for it to arrive, but finally, it happened, because we pushed for the creation of the Mexican Norms of this industry –despite the clear opposition at first-, and because we search NYCE relationship with the leaders of the evaluation of these devices in the market”.
From now on, users will demand to see in the gaming machines the seal of NYCE Certificate – Games and Draws, or advertising related to such certification next to each machine certified, while manufacturers of equipment and casinos, that every day face more and more competition, will see in certification an element of competitiveness, both in the country and abroad, which will allow to attract more customers towards the use of certified equipments and towards casinos in which such equipments are operating. This is the case of online table games of Alfastreet and the venues of Grupo Caliente.
The sphere of the information technologies is very dynamic, always innovative and creative. Consequently, as part of the certification process, NYCE has implemented a diagram of periodical monitoring, which allows to assure that, as time goes by, equipments keep on complying with the same operational conditions they had when they were certified.
This way, although there are software updates according to the dynamism of the industry, when verifying the devices periodically, NYCE will be able to assure that they keep on complying with the security specifications, the random characteristic of the draw and a fair payment of the jackpots, according to the rules of the game.
