Isle of Capri reports us$ 10.6 million loss for Q3

(US).- Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. posted a loss in its fiscal third quarter as consumers continued to pull back on how much they spend gambling. The casino operator lost us$ 10.6 million in the quarter ended January 24, compared with a profit of us$ 46.1 million for the same quarter a year earlier.

sle of Capri reported revenue of $227 million for the third quarter, down 25 percent from us$ 301.8 million in the prior-year period.

“The ongoing pressure the macroeconomic environment is placing on our markets has negatively impacted our revenues,” Chairman and Chief Executive James Perry said in a statement.

“Overall, as we are bumping along the bottom of this economic cycle, we continue to generate free cash flow while managing with a solid operating plan and an eye towards increased future profitability,” Perry added.

Creve Coeur-based Isle of Capri Casinos owns and operates riverboat, dockside and land-based casinos at 14 locations in Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, Colorado, Iowa and Florida.
