PlayCity currently has 25 gaming properties in Mexico

PokerTek selected for Televisa’s gaming properties and installed at two Mexico City properties

(Mexico).- PokerTek has been selected by Apuestas Internacionales for its gaming properties operated in Mexico under the brand name “PlayCity”. Apuestas Internacionales is a wholly owned subsidiary of Grupo Televisa, in charge of its gaming business segment.


layCity currently has 25 gaming properties in Mexico, and has made commitments to PokerTek for 34 units. PokerTek installed the initial units at two of PlayCity´s premier properties located in Mexico City: two units at PlayCity Armand on November 20th and three units at PlayCity Antara on November 24th.

“PlayCity’s properties are impressive, and include the latest gaming technology,” said Mark Roberson, PokerTek’s Acting CEO and CFO. “We are pleased to be selected by such a prestigious company as their supplier, and look forward to adding units into their other properties as quickly as possible.”

Televisa is the largest media company in the Spanish-speaking world and a major participant in the international entertainment business. It has interests in television production and broadcasting, production of pay-television networks, international distribution of television programming, direct-to-home satellite services, cable television and telecommunication services, magazine publishing and distribution, radio production and broadcasting, professional sports and live entertainment, feature-film production and distribution, the operation of an internet portal, and gaming.

Televisa also owns an unconsolidated equity stake in La Sexta, a free-to-air television venture in Spain.
