n the next 10 days, the company will present the guarantee of compliance of the contract and, four months later, they will have to present the executive project for its approval by IMM. Once approved, the developments will have to start in 30 days.
“These are the deadlines established in the document and which we will be complying. Once the development started, we have a maximum of 20 months to inaugurate the hotel,” informed Guillermo Arcani, Director of the Sofitel Carrasco project, in the programme En Perspectiva.
“When one presents a project in a tender process, one has to present it creating a draft bill. That bill, which basically reflects the blueprints of the hotel, the awarding of the areas and their distribution. When one has to pass from a draft to a project, they have to have details in every of these aspects and a very technical definition level, that is basically the difference between the two stages.”
Arcani added that the company will have 20 months to develop the building, from the approval of this project.
The executive affirmed that it does not determine the plan of the development of this building to the actions of challenge and suspension before the Administrative contentious Court and for damages before the civil justice that the firm Dongara (Hyatt) will take. "It does not affect us at all, we are really very satisfied with the performance, with its process and its transparency and assume the total responsibility of having been chosen to perform the development according to the documents presented.”
“We are committed with our proposal and we are really totally convinced; we have been convinced within all this long process that lasted almost a year and a half, since we presented the offer, and we have achieved to respect the deadlines of the City Council, and now it is time to start working to refurbish this hotel (...) Our assessment on this process is that we have complied perfectly with the things established in the document”.
“We will start working according to the plan, with no changes, and we will make progress to comply with the time, the qualities and expectations of what Montevideo and Uruguay really want with regards to our project. We have started working with regards to the hotel. The specific tender process of the constructing company has not been carried out yet, it will be held once this executive project is concluded. What we have finished is the tender of other type of councillors”, explained the leader of Codere-Sofitel.
