Spanish gaming businessman Joaquín Franco died

(Spain).- Joaquín Franco, founder of Recreativos Franco, passed away yesterday (November 9th) in Spain. Together with his brother Jesús, he entered into Spanish gaming industry in 1965 operating pinball machines.

en years later, they fulfilled a lifelong ambition and formed their own corporation, Recreativos Franco, SA, with which they began to manufacture their first own-brand machines.

In 1980 Franco Brothers and Martínez Sampedro family created Codere, SA, in which Franco brothers stayed until 2006, when they sold their shares to focus on game development business.

Besides the mentioned Recreativos Franco and Codere, throughout his career Joaquín Franco founded numerous companies. At last edition of Andalusian Gaming and Gambling Trade Show, he was recognized as 'The Best Businessman of the gaming sector' for his outstanding work in the spanish gaming industry.

A funeral for Joaquín Franco will take place in the Almudena Cathedral Crypt in Madrid on Tuesday 10 November at 17:30h.
