Scotland Yard confirmed yesterday night in a press release the opening of a murder investigation, and revealed that a post mortem into Pleguezuelos' death found she died of multiple stab wounds. She was found stabbed to death in the house in Elmfield Close by police, who were called at around 6.30am on Monday.

Olga Pleguezuelos, who had a Master in Corporate Communication in Barcelona, developed a professional career in the marketing area of companies related to consulting, leisure, advertising and telecommunications, and was responsible, during the last two years, of the Department of Marketing and Communications of the firm Aristocrat Europe, in its London venue. Specialized in corporate communication, she had worked in firms belonging to Coca-Cola group and in France Telecom.

Recently, the company announced that she would be the new Director of Sales and Operations of Aristocrat in Latin America. She was expected to move to the company's Las Vegas office to replace an employee leaving in November.

Spanish Olga Pleguezuelos Puxueu was married to British Mark Campbell, ILD Chief Information Officer, the consortium that promotes the mega-complex Gran Scala in Aragón. Her husband is, from June 2008, the liaison between the administration council of the company that aims to build the biggest leisure and games of chance complex of Europe and the Government of Aragón.

Sources close to the family explained that some relatives travelled to London yesterday, after Scotland Yard communicated them the death of the executive. The police also confirmed that a man was arrested at the scene, suffering from neck and wrist injuries.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment and officers are waiting to question him. Some sources pointed that the arrested man is Campbell, although Scotland Yard has not confirmed this version yet.

However, a spokesman from ILD confirmed yesterday that Campbell has been interrogated, although they did not know if he was making a statement as a witness or if he was arrested
as a crime suspect.

The executive sister, Eva Pleguezuelos, assured the press that Campbell “is in a London hospital with some injuries in his hands, and he was the one who called the police with the aim to give himself up.”

“The police told us that he said he did it,” added the sister of the victim, who assured: “According to what we were told and to the tasks that the police is performing, we want the investigation to be performed in detail, in order to shed light on a very dark, painful, fearful and brutal situation.”

Mark Cambell, who has started the divorce proceedings from his wife, was now performing commercial tasks in the United States, a country in which he had contacts with hotel operators and providers for the project that is being developed in Ontiñena, Spain.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Glen Lloyd, from the Met's Homicide and Serious Crime Command, is leading the murder investigation.
