SEGOB to participate in the Summit of Operators in Mexico

(Mexico).- Mexican SEGOB (Secretary of Government) informed to ELA 2009 organizers that members of the entity will participate in the “II Latin American Summit of Gaming Operators”, to be held July 23th, within the Latin American Games of Chance Exhibition (ELA).

It is the first time that SEGOB participates in an international summit in which the sigue to debate is related to the gaming sector,” pointed the organizers of the event.

According to political analysts of the country, it is due to the new performance of the team leaded by Mexican Minister for Home Affairs, Fernando Gómez Mont Urueta, who is in charge of the position since less than a year ago. He is considered as a person willing to listen to the concerns of Mexican businessmen, in line with the total democratic opening underlined by president Felipe Calderón.

This news has been very well received by the Mexican private sector, which is having a very positive change of attitude with regards to previous stages. Next Thursday’s forum will be dedicated to “The development of legal game in Latin America and its influence in the canibalization of the clandestine activity. The specific case of Mexico".

The wellcome speech will be in charge of the president of the Association of Games and Draws Licensees in Mexico, APJSAC, Alfonso Pérez Lizaur. Then, prestigious Mexican lawyer, Alfredo Lazcano, specialized in gaming law, will talk about the legal field and the theory in which this congreso will be held.

The act will be opened, as well as last year,  with the participation of the main Latin American gaming operators. Representatives from Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala,  El Salvador, Puerto Rico, US, Canada, Spain and, of course, the host country, Mexico, have already confirmed their participation.

Relevant gaming operators from UK, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Slovenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, China, Taiwan and South Korea have also confirmed their participation, as observers.

“Once more, all the operators will be able to exchange their points of view in an informal way on the gaming situation of their respective countries, which is the main success of this forum,” commented from the organization. Once the act is concluded, it will be held the inaugural ribbon cut of the second edition of Latin American Games of Chance Exhibition.

With regards to ELA 2009, organizers are optimistic, because the information of the registrations, the different expansion of the exhibiting area in the year and an increment of the number of exhibitors make it happen.

The exhibition will be held on July 23-24, 15 to 21 hs, in Banamex Center in the Mexican capital city, considered the best in all Latin America.
