Mexico has become an important gaming market with a considerable growth potential. In the weeks and months to come the regulatory framework can be expected to move an important further step towards a thoroughly and justly regulated business environment for the local and international gaming industry.

Throughout the year 2008 the various bills and regulations necessary to create a truly international standard gaming environment have been advanced in order to create a stable gaming jurisdiction for consumers as well as business operators and investors.

Since 2008 Mexico even has its own international gaming show. The Exposicion Latinoamericana de Juegos de Azar (ELA) was founded to cover the Mexican gaming market and serve as an international fair of reference for the southern United States, Central America, the Caribbean and the Andean Region.

The show has already attracted great international interest with its premiere (held in Monterrey) in 2008 and now in 2009 goes into its second round with a new location in Mexico City and additional new international exhibitors, most notable among them the Novomatic Group.

The group’s subsidiaries Austrian Gaming Industries GmbH (AGI) and Astra Games Ltd. consider the ELA gaming show an excellent new opportunity to increase their presence in the region. They will present a comprehensive range of international products as well as highly market specific offerings for the Latin American markets.

A special cabinet highlight at the show in Mexico will certainly be the great casino style cabinet Novo-Vision Slant Top I. It features a 22” bottom touch-screen and a 26” top screen as well as the innovative Flip-Screen Feature. This exceptional functionality allows players to switch their main game from the bottom to the top screen and play in their ergonomically most convenient position. Another outstanding feature is the second start button at the foot rest for ultimate player comfort and relaxed gaming fun.

Also the new best seller Super-V+ Gaminatorwill be on show at ELA. Featuring state-of-the-art video gaming technology the Super-V+ Gaminator is absolutely designed to perform! It comes with panoramic displays in extra-wide screen format, Multi-Denomination and multi-language options. It guarantees great audio impact and excellent sound quality through subwoofers and an active satellite speaker system. Sophisticated style, highest quality and a great range of top-performing Coolfire II multi-game mixes make this cabinet a top casino attraction for maximum guest interest and superlative performance.

The Super-V+ Gaminator has gained enormous popularity among operators and players alike and has become the new standard multi-game cabinet for international markets. Besides its great attraction as a stand-alone machine it also perfectly complements the Flexi-Link Jackpot System together with AGI’s innovative Powerlink display.

The Powerlink, a further display of the four jackpot levels directly at the machine between the top and bottom screens in 16:5 format, provides additional information and gaming thrill for the guest. The implementation of the Powerlink in the Super-V+ Gaminator does not require any additional interfaces it enables a simple plug’n play. Flexi-Link also offers a great variety of available jackpot themes in the highly flexible jackpot theme selection via the user-friendly operator’s menu for maximum gaming variety for the guest.

Novo Super-Vision is a leading multi-game machine exclusively designed for the Americas. With this new machine AGI offers the perfect multi-game solution for the top performing Coolfire II gaming platform. The hottest multi-game mixes shine brightly in this new casino star, making Novo Super-Vision the top attraction on every gaming floor. This cabinet, dedicated exclusively to South America, is already well accepted throughout the region and greatly appreciated by casino operators and casino guests alike.

The requirements of Class II gaming, for markets in Mexico and certain jurisdictions within the United States of America are for games of electronic bingo and while this is the mathematical process that provides the game there are many alternative methods of displaying the bingo results to players. These games look similar to normal, international standard, casino games even though their operation is markedly different.

AGI, in co-operation with its UK subsidiary Astra Games Limited have developed a defined Class II gaming solution. Called Microbingo, the game will be shown at the forthcoming ELA show and will simultaneously go on field trial in Mexico and in the USA. AGI and Astra have extremely high expectations of this new product development and await test results with great interest.

Jens Halle, Managing Director, AGI,: “The recent market development in Mexico is extremely interesting and adds yet another dynamic to the gaming hotspot that is the Latin American region. We firmly believe that the new product development that will be shown for the first time at ELA will prove attractive and exciting to Mexican operators and guests alike. The further development of Class III, international standard gaming in Mexico – under the appropriate regulation and technical standards – is also to be welcomed and we look forward to making AGI a significant force in this market sector also.

“This is a show aimed at all sectors of the Latin American market and thus is a rival to SAGSE in Buenos Aires. We will make a full evaluation of the strengths of both shows and define our strategy as we continue to expand throughout South America,” he concluded.
