(Exclusive Yogonet.com from Macau).- Yogonet.com interviewed Simon Liu, Director of Business Development of Jumbo Technology at recent G2E Asia, where the firm presented its products. He talked about the main markets for the company and its strategy to continue growing in Asia, and also commented the show and the feedback from visitors in this particular edition.

W

hat are you showing at G2E Asia?
We have a multi-player product and we have a slot machine. In this G2E Asia we are displaying our multi-player. We have a Sic-bo, a roulette, a Video Baccarat, a Robot Baccarat and a slot machine. So there are two given categories: one is multi-player and the other is slots.

Are your products thought for the Asian market or globally?
Basically, right now we focus on the Asian market, especially in South East Asia, but globally, we are also quite open to every kind of cooperation or opportunities.

In Asia, which is the most important market or country for your company?
Of course Macau is a very important stage for our company; it is like a global show that gathers all the audience, all players in the world, so Macau will successfully bring our Sic Bo into major casinos, like Venetian, Sands, City of Dreams. Besides, the other countries or regions we are looking to focus are Singapore, Malaysia and basically, the South East Asian region; and now, Philippines would be our next destination.

This is a very particular market because, in general, most of the people play table games, so, which is the strategy of the company to grow in this market?
For table games, basically, our multi-player is a very good table game for some jurisdictions. In some jurisdictions, they don’t want big tables in the casino, and this would be a very good chance for them to have electronic table games. And of course, in terms of floor, it is a product mix; it should be like multi-player table games and slot machines, so we can provide more variety for the operators, and they can do a very good product mix for the operation.

What about the show? Was it good for the company?
Definitely it is a good show, and every year G2E Asia is a bigger event, so it is definitely a very good display opportunity for us. Maybe we are not really focused on machine selling, but it would be a very good chance for us to present our products to some new customers. However, in terms of the economy situation right now, the global crisis really affects a lot, specially the casino industry. We also know there are not so many opportunities in which they can purchase machines or products, but we do focus on the replacement market, because they probably don’t have enough budget to buy new products. And in this bad situation, they would review the casino floor to see which machines really produce profit, and then, we have the chance. If the machine doesn´t make profit, they would think about another kind of product, so they don’t have a very big budget plan to buy machines but they might have a small budget plan to replace the machine. And this is a good chance for us in G2E Asia this time.

How was the feedback of the visitors?
So far, it seems very good, and especially for some visitors from Asia and some jurisdictions, which are looking for some new products. Maybe not in Macau, it is still slow here in Macau, in my perspective, but we know it is getting better. Anyway we have to be prosperous, but in some jurisdictions like South East Asia, they have some plans to build more casinos. That would be our focus and we do have a very good feedback from them.
