“Casinos de Latinoamérica” to grant Golden Ace Awards at ELA 2009

(Mexico).- The publication for the gaming industry, “Casinos de Latinoamérica”, has chosen the Latin-American Gaming Fair, ELA, to be held over 23 & 24 July in Mexico City, for the prize-giving ceremony of its now traditional Golden Ace awards.

Last year we held the Golden Ace ceremony in Monterrey, and this year we have chosen Mexico City, which we think is the ideal venue,” said people from the publication. The reasons are simple, the fundamental one being that the 2009 edition of ELA will be even better than 2008, which was a huge success. Moving the event to the capital was a brilliant decision. The fair has got much bigger and many more exhibitors and visitors are expected this year.

Unlike other exhibitions held in Central America and the Caribbean, which either have to be cancelled or are largely ignored by exhibitors and public, ELA is the undoubted reference for the region. And, at current rates of growth, it is set to surpass itself. The support of the Mexican Association of Gaming Licensees (APJSAC) and the holding of the 2nd Ibero-American Meeting of Gaming Operators will also contribute to the success of the exhibition.

In other news, the new policy implemented by the Mexican Ministry of the Interior (SEGOB), involving working more closely with licensees and legal operators, is expected to have great benefits on the industry. This will be reflected in the number of visitors to ELA”, explained Pedro Galindo, editor of “Casinos de Latinoamérica”. ELA Mexico is thus confirmed as the definitive venue for the prestigious Golden Ace prize-giving ceremony.

On this occasion, the trophies go to the businesses IGT, Alfastreet and Gold Club, as well as to Mexican specialist gaming lawyer Alfredo Lazcano and Helios Navarro, Managing Director of CIRSA-Panama.

The Golden Ace trophies are an exclusive design for “Casinos de Latinoamérica”, created by master goldsmith Juan Pallarols in solid silver plated with 24-carat gold. His other clients include King Juan Carlos I of Spain, Princess Maxima and Prince Willem Alexander of the Netherlands, the late Lady Di, famous actors Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith and the current President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, for whom he made her presidential staff.
