Increasing by more than 40% or over 2,900 units, since the September 2006

WMS' participation footprint surpasses 10,000 gaming machines

(US).- WMS Gaming a wholly owned subsidiary of WMS Industries, announced that its installed base of participation gaming machines now exceeds 10,000 units.


he achievement of this growth milestone for installed units reflects WMS’ ongoing success in developing and placing participation gaming machines with appealing and innovative play experiences enabled by the company’s foundational server and networked-gaming technologies combined with entertaining game content and features created through the company’s Player Driven Innovation development focus.

WMS’ participation footprint has grown steadily, increasing by more than 40% or over 2,900 units, since the September 2006 introduction of games featuring the first generation of the company’s Community Gaming foundational technology.

Since the first game theme was launched on the Community Gaming platform, WMS has also introduced games on three additional foundational platforms – Sensory Immersion, Transmissive Reels and Adaptive Gaming – each a unique and player-appealing form factor. Just over 50% of the current installed base of gaming devices now utilize one or a combination of these advanced technology components.

Reflecting consistently positive player response to the enhanced entertainment experience derived from games on these innovative platforms, the company’s average daily revenue per participation gaming machine has increased by over 20%, or us$ 11.82, from an average of us$ 58.55 in the September 2006 quarter to us$ 70.37 in the March 2009 quarter.

“WMS’ ongoing success in growing our participation installed base and the revenue generated from these games is a direct result of our Company-wide commitment to our long-term technology development plan and the excellent execution we have achieved as a result of this focus. Importantly, we continue to advance our market position by readying for commercialization new products enabled with the second and third generations of our foundational technologies that provide a broader array of unique and differentiated entertainment experiences for players.

“Over the past three years we have introduced new games that have quickly become player favorites such as The Wizard of Oz (Sensory Immersion), Star Trek (Adaptive Gaming) and more recently Reel ‘em In Compete to Win, the fifth and newest title in our Community Gaming category that offers players the chance to engage in competitive fishing tournaments and receive recognition for their success through the display of their scores on overhead local and nationally based leader boards for all to see.”

In addition to the continued roll-out of its Reel ‘em In Compete to Win game, WMS has also begun the roll-out of Time Machine on the Sensory Immersion platform allowing players the chance to time travel to the future and past in a fully immersive audio and visual experience and Monopoly Grand Hotel Big Event on the Community Gaming platform, which provides traditional three-reel mechanical players with the proven success of the interactive communal bonus rounds.
