Cirsa increases its operational benefit a 9% in the first quarter 2009

(Spain).- Leisure and gaming company Cirsa has increased its operational benefit a 9% in the first quarter 2009 with regards to the same period last year, reaching 52 million euros, with an operational income of 411 million euros.

With these results, Cirsa reaches its profitability goals for the 13th quarter in a row, according to a press release of the company.

B2B division- the recreational machines division- that has increased in three points its participation in Spain, which is currently a 54%; while the casino division has grown in Argentine, Panamanian and Venezuelan markets, as a result of 11 casino refurbishments.

Besides, bingo halls in Mexico have increased its incomes a 77%, due to the collection improvement per machine and the increment in the number of venues. The operational division has stabilized its results in Spain, with the opening of 13 new casinos, reaching a total of 122.

In the Italian market, Cirsa collection has increased a 3% with regards to the first quarter 2008, as a consequence of the optimization of more that 2,000 machines and the increment of customers.

Future plans of the company involve the reopening of Bingo Estación in Puerto de Santa María (Cadiz, Spain) and the conclusion of the first phase of the remodelation of Casino Marbella (Malaga, Spain). Besides, Cirsa has planned to open next September a new complex in the city of Rosario (Argentina), and in 2010, a new casino in Valencia (Spain).
