ILD consortium, promoter of Gran Scala, has assured that in Lérida and in Catalonia there is much interest of businessmen willing to participate in the project, although most operators would be international. Promoters plan that, by 2022, they would have built six big entertainment parks and 32 casino hotels with 70,000 rooms.

Last Tuesday, Gran Scala project was presented in Lerida, before businessmen that showed their interest. International Leisure Development (ILD) consortium has already defined the surface in which in wants to install the complex. It has agreed the purchase of 1,003 hectares so far, while the government will facilitate other 1,220 public hectares. So the agreeement has to be signed in order to acquire the 340 private hectares pending.

Jaume Riera, one of ILD partners that have presented the project in Lérida, has assured that the promoter already has the 70% of the funds to build the first phase  “basically from international investors.”

The project may continue once Aragón approves the law for this type of installations, in which ILD proposal will have to be adapted. Promoters have assured that “Aragon government is doing everything necessary” and that this action comes together with an important support from the political and social sectors.
