ir Ian Robinson was appointed Chairman of the Board of Ladbrokes plc on October 1st 2001. Under his Chairmanship Ladbrokes has achieved a significant increase in gross win, which has risen from over us$ 745 million in 2000 to us$ 1.9 billion in 2007. The company has also extended its retail presence to Italy and Spain and has established itself as a world-leading provider of online betting and gaming services.
Taking his place will be Peter Erskine, the former Chief Executive of O2 plc and board member of Telefónica S.A, who will join the board as a Non-Executive Director on January 1st and will take over as Chairman after the AGM.
Peter Erskine was appointed to the O2 board back in 2001 as CEO, having joined the company from BT where since March 1993 he held a number of senior positions including Director of BT Mobile, President and Chief Executive of Concert and from 1998, Managing Director of BT Cellnet.
Prior to joining BT he served as European Vice President of Sales and Customer Service for Mars and Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing for Unitel.

I look forward to playing a role in the further development of the business."
