"We are building a very solid infraestructure for all the Latin American customers"

(Exclusive from US).- Eduardo Aching, Director of International Sales of Konami, talked to within G2E event, performed last month in Las Vegas. There, he talked about the recent insertion of the company in Latin America and the strategy of the firm to grow in those markets.


hich is the importance of Latin America for Konami and which is the strategy of the company to grow in this market?

Latin America is very important market for Konami, because it has much potential. Recently, the company has hired me as Director of International Sales, so, I will manage the groups in Argentina, Chile and other South American and Caribbean countries, and we will begin to spread more Konami brand and the products we have.

Which are the advantages of Konami machines?

Konami machines have a very good performance, both stepper and videos, and they are bringing very good results to all North American operators. So this is the moment to pass that experience to the Latin American market, both in video and stepper, and this would be the starting point to show that Konami has a strong and competitive product.

Which are the most attractive markets for you in the Latin American region?

Today we are starting basically in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. We are establishing in those markets and we will start to enter in other markets, too. But the aim of Konami is to establish strong and firm bonds to build a solid customer base. As we are a new company in Latin America, there are some restrictions, but the idea of the company is to eliminate all possible restrictions or limitations. So we are considering the experience of other companies with which we are working in order to be able to evolve in this market.

How is the regional sales team comprised?

At the moment, we work with sales agents, but in the future we will appoint several regional distributors. I cannot give you more details at the moment, buy we are building a very solid infraestructure for all the customers, with innovations that the other competitors do not have.
