Professor Lei Heong Iok, President of Macao Polytechnic Institute and Peter Turner, Managing Director of BMM Compliance Asia Pacific addressed the distinguished guests, which included representatives from government, local operators and manufacturers as well as the Macau media.
Professor Lei, in his speech pointed out “Macao is now becoming not only one of the most famous gaming centres in the world, but also the one having the highest revenue. As a result, the supervision of the gaming industry also needs to develop. The establishment of a slot machine and gaming equipment testing laboratory is therefore an essential element in meeting the current needs of the market”
Peter Turner thanked Professor Lei and the Installation Committee members from MPI and the Gaming and Inspection Coordination Bureau (DICJ) for providing BMM with the opportunity to collaborate with MPI to further develop the Gaming Industry in Macao. He also commented “The exclusive collaborative partnership between MPI and BMM, not only establishes a world class testing facility for gaming systems and devices, but also offers new opportunity to the people of Macao, and in particular academic students, to gain training and experience in the technology driven world of gaming compliance”.
One of the first responsibilities the Centre will take on will be to work with the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) in the development of a set of gaming regulations and standards formulated to meet the unique requirements of Macau.
