Uruguay: Four offers to operate Carrasco Hotel Casino presented

(Uruguay).- Montevideo Council (IMM) received four offers for the operation of Carrasco Hotel Casino, according to the press department of the council. Mayor Ricardo Ehrlich granted a press conference where he presented the documents.

ontevideo Council started with the evaluation process of the proposal last Friday, in collaboration with the National Corporation for the Development. The tender process comprises the commercial operation of the building as a high level hotel and it may include complementary services such as restaurants, convention centers, sporting installations, etc.

It also includes the tender of the gambling venue of Casino Municipal, which is inside the hotel. This venue could not exceed the 20% of the development, according to the IMM web page.

IMM said that will not just consider those proposals that offer more money for the concession but also those which bring the importance that Casino Carrasco used to have for Montevideo, so 30 of the 40 points are for the refurbishment project and the other five are dedicated to the way in which they solve the parking space issue.

All those who present projects will compete for 20 points. Five are dedicated to the quantity of employments and the salaries. Other five will be granted with regards to the way in which the proposal is focused in the attraction of international tourism and social sectors with high incomes.

The remaining ten points are divided in the background of the applicants regarding hotel operation and casino management. The minimum annual payment of one of the fees of one million dollars from its fourth year of operation.
