Mintur collected more than us$ 11.2 million in bingos and casinos in 2007

(Venezuela).- Minister of Poder Popular for Tourism (Mintur), through Casinos, Bingos and Slots National Commission, collected more than us$ 11,272,614 on prerogatives and special contributions from bingos and casinos during last fiscal exercise 2007.

ccording to a Mintur report, us$ 10,086,023 are from prerogatives and us$ 105,512 were obtained on special contributions of the named gambling halls. These collection numbers during fiscal period 2007 allowed an increment of 13% with regards to 2006.

Mintur aims to increase the income in 2008 on special contributions to us$ 2.040.046, with the aim to guarantee a proper institutional management. Is also estimates to increase the income on prerogatives to us$ 13.623.694 annually, in order to support the development, strengthening and consolidation of social tourism.

Besides, Casino National Commission, during fiscal exercise 2007, put more focus on aspects related to progressive eradication on illegal gambling and the attachment to legality in the casino and games of chance operations.

As a consequence of the performance of activities of control, together with the National Guard and Integrated National Service of Customs and Tax Administration (Seniat), the commission closed 23 places that operated without a license and seized 420 slots.
