“Veikkaus is one of the most innovative and successful operators in the World Lotteries Association. Among their many achievements, the firm has been a true pioneer in the delivery of lottery content over new media channels. They have delivered consistent growth across all segments of their business and are one of the most successful interactive lotteries in the world,” said Gtech President and CEO, Jaymin B. “This is a logical extension of our close cooperation with Gtech. With a strong technology partner such as Gtech, we can continue developing our business to benefit the Finnish society. The trust between both organizations gives us the needed edge in finding new and innovative solutions to serve our customers,” said Veikkaus Oy CEO, Risto Nieminen.
Under the terms of the extension, Gtech will provide Veikkaus with continued software licensing and related products and services in connection with a Gtech-provided turn-key, state-of-the-art, Lottery and Sports Betting system. The system is processing wagers via retailer terminals, the Internet, and mobile channels, and is currently being migrated to a Gtech Enterprise Series system.
