T

he latest software update allows players to place side bets during play on a range of possibilities such as the colour or suit of the next card upturned. This upgrade follows PokerPro's Autumn '07 release of Omaha Hi/Lo, a game that's notoriously difficult to deal, Multi Table Tournament functionality and new player facilities to display Showdown Odds, offer Quick Accounts, Kill Pots and Stored Value Cards as well as multiple language and currency configurations.

Building on earlier high profile installations at Casino Wiesbaden, whose popularity later prompted the siting of a further 10 seat table, and another table at the Aquamarin Casino Seevetal, tables have now been opened at Spielbank Cottbus and Spielbank Frankfurt-Oder, making Germany one of PokerPro's hottest markets. Tables are currently undergoing approval in five other key European jurisdictions which are expected to yield significant orders in the first half of 2008.

Daniel Lindsay, Business Development Manager for Aristocrat Technologies Europe, remarked: “PokerPro sets the benchmark by which other electronic Poker products are judged and the last 12 months have seen a tremendous effort working with regulators across Europe to ensure PokerPro meets the rigorous standards set. This work, we believe, will pay dividends over the course of the next six months and that the new software developments implemented by PokerTek will further enhance the product. We are also delighted to announce that we have recently exchanged contracts with Gameprom, a major Bulgarian Operator, for 10 tables with the roll out taking place following the success of an initial table sited.”

Tzvetomir Naydenov of Gameprom commented: “The initial results of the first PokerPro table were conclusive and we are delighted to become the first operator in Europe to schedule the installation of a significant number of tables. The product is robust, players enjoy it and it is profitable so for us it was a straight forward business decision to open a dedicated electronic Poker Room.”

Tim Klok, European Manager Multi Station Gaming for Aristocrat, concluded: “We have focused PokerPro onto a number of key European markets where motivated operators can see the benefits and regulators are flexible and willing to work with us to obtain approvals. This has been no small task but we have gained real traction over the last 12 months.”
