PRI assures that the installation is out of control

"Mexican casinos should be regulated"

(Mexico).- Héctor Rivera Morales, leader of PRI Party in Nuevo León, anticipated that, with the beginning of the year, it will start a working table for the integration of a new juridical frame to regulate the operation of illegal gambling venues which, he said, are beating the results of illegal gambling in the entity.

We are worried because Monterrey and its metropolitan area are having these type of gambling houses and particular entertainment centers, and that's why we are demanding that a legislative working table should be immediately opened in order to establish a bill that contemplates a real regulatory frame, both for casinos already operating as well as those that are to be installed.”

“We are demanding our federal and local legislators to establish that regulatory frame and we are already working on that and expect to make important progress in January, to announce when would the document be officially presented”.

Rivera Morales said that, as there is no law to regulate the activity, the granting of licenses is managed in a discretional way. He mentioned that, in the initiative, it will also be included a mechanism to allow that the profits are reflected in the public treasury of the state as well as the regional governments.
