ob Boughner, Echelon President and CEO, commented on The Meeting Center, "The launch of our meeting and convention sales effort is a key milestone in the development of Echelon. We conducted extensive qualitative and quantitative research to understand the needs of meeting planners in order to craft a beautifully designed, highly versatile meeting and convention facility. The Meeting Center will be a technologically rich and contemporary environment that will serve the growing convention and meetings market."

Conceived from the beginning as an integral element of the 87-acre master planned Echelon, The Meeting Center will feature both dedicated entrances and convenient access to a diverse array of entertainment, dining, nightlife, shopping and lodging experiences. Its immediate proximity to the five premium hotels of Echelon will help to minimize the waiting and walking that has become synonymous with other large scale megaresorts.

The Meeting Center design focuses on technology, superior access, versatility, proximity, and flexibility. The five hotels include: Hotel Echelon; The Enclave, an all-suite hotel; Delano and Mondrian by Morgans Hotel Group, a leader in boutique hotels; and Shangri-La Las Vegas by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia-Pacific’s most-respected luxury hospitality brand.

Sales and bookings for The Meeting Center will be led by Gus Tejeda, Vice President Sales for Echelon, who brings more than 17 years of sales experience with world-renowned luxury hotel companies to the Echelon team. Tejeda commented on The Meeting Center, "The creation of a fully integrated environment for meetings and conventions, one that will operate in complete harmony with the other elements of Echelon, has been central to our vision from the outset. Las Vegas is rapidly emerging as a premier convention destination, and we intend to solidify and strengthen the city’s reputation among meeting planners."

The Meeting Center will be at the center of one of the largest concentrations of convention and meetings facilities, with approximately 6.5 million square feet of meeting space located within walking distance of Echelon.

The three-level will include 16,722 sqm of exhibit space on the first floor that can be conveniently divided into three sections, allowing several groups to be accommodated simultaneously. Exhibition registration will be located in the adjacent 3,251 sqm of pre-function area.

Echelon will also feature a 4,000-seat performance theater, directly adjacent to The Meeting Center, a 1,500-seat venue, and a 27,870 sqm retail promenade.

Shangri-La and Mondrian will offer individual meeting space in addition to The Meeting Center, bringing the grand total of meeting and convention space at Echelon to 750,000 square feet. Shangri-La Las Vegas will feature 29,000 square feet of meeting space, and Mondrian will include 6,503 sqm of meeting space.
