enator Fernando Castro Trenti said that “we do not aim to merge both entities, but we aim to replace them, connecting their mechanisms and instruments, adressed to identical purposes, in a new organism”, which would be called Lottery and National Sportsbooks for Public Assistance.
“The creation of this new entity mean the disappearance of the two entities mentioned above”, he indicated, and explained: “We aim to create an entity to connect the two institutions to be more efficient and to reduce operating and administrative costs”.
Castro Trento said it would be an organism decentralized from the Federal Administration, with its own legal status and assets.
“It would support the government economically, in public assistance and would allocate just the resources to be obtained on the development of draws and contest with cash prizes”, he added.
The president of the Commission of Legislative Studies sostained that the aim is that resources for public assistance and combat of poverty remain safe “on the growing competence of the private sector in the offer of games and draws”.
He assured that the initiative prevails the creation of a Fund for Public Assistance, in charge of surveillane, administration, racional application and tracking of the resources obtained by the new entity.
