Incredible Technologies, of Arlington Heights, Ill., has released its reference implementation over Source Forge at Sourceforge.net. Source Forge is described as the world’s largest development and download repository of Open Source code and applications.

Incredible Technologies’ Director of Server Technology, Scott Schoenberg, said, "Our G2S implementation is available for free download over the Internet, as is the G2S protocol, so developers will have the ability to refer to a standard source code while creating their own version. We want to continue to build the environment of openness that has so far sustained GSA and its protocols."

Schoenberg continued, "Once a standard method is adopted by many companies, redundant development cycles can be eliminated, allowing for more innovative products and easier implementation for developers as well as casino operators."

In lay terms, a protocol reference implementation is basically software source code that allows interested parties to understand how to implement a protocol in their own systems. By making the implementation public, Incredible Technologies is proclaiming that they are not taking a proprietary stance on the company’s G2S implementation which will be a benefit to everyone in the gaming community.
