The new communications network will help the properties improve guest services and enhance employee workflow utilizing a full-suite of IP telephony features and next-generation applications.

MGM Mirage owns and operates 17 properties located in Nevada, Mississippi and Michigan, and has investments in three other properties in Nevada, New Jersey and Illinois. The Luxor and Excalibur properties are located in Las Vegas, Nevada and nearly 8,500 hotel rooms.

The Luxor and Excalibur properties plan to upgrade their existing NEC TDM systems to the Univerge Neax 2400 IPX, a customized hybrid/TDM IP platform that allows customers to leverage the benefits of network convergence without having to undergo a forklift upgrade.

Hotel and casino employees and guests will be able to take advantage of the added features and functionality IP telephony offers including, expanded voicemail capacity, enhanced wake-up-call features, fully integrated attendant consoles to support reservations and an integrated contact center solution with Automatic Call Distribution (ACD). NEC on-site technicians will also be available to quickly respond to issues and conduct maintenance services including moves, adds and changes.
