Positive debut of G2E in Asia

Due to the growth of the Asian market, most of the exhibitors anticipated that they will expand their booths in the second edition in 2008, to be held in the new exhibition center of Hotel Venetian, which will soon be inaugurated.

The boom and the growth of Macau as the new worldwide gambling capital made leader companies of the sector gather in this event to show their developments for the Asian market. This way, firms such as IGT, Aristocrat, Bally Technologies, Atronic, WMS, Konami, Ainsworth, Novomatic GPI, Shuffle Master, Octavian/eBet, and others, showcased their developments for the region, in many cases with the presence of their top executives, together with the local representatives of each firm.

The first edition of G2E Asia - organized together with Reeds Exhibition and AmericanGaming Association- was held in the Exhibition Center of Macao Tower and Convention Center. However, for next year, the organization confirmed a three-day show in the new installations of Venetian Macao -to be inaugurated next August 28th - which will have a mega exhibition complex. In this new space, G2E Asia will aim to become the regional gambling business center, the same as G2E in Las Vegas.

Besides, visitors were able to participate in a comprehensive series of conferences whose main aim was to explain the current situation of the sector in Macau. Specialists talked about short and medium term trends.

The main conference was “Making it in Macau: Asia's Gaming Giant”, which analyzed the constant growth of Macau and its potential for the future. Organizers also offered a tour in the new Venetian Macao, which allowed to point the potential providers of the mega-resort the magnitude of the complex.

Besides, most of the leading companies presented their new products and novelties, many of them addressed especially to Asian operators.

Bally Technologies: The US company exhibited a mixture of new slot titles, specifically addressed for the Asian market, and also organized a celebration for the 75th anniversary of the firm. The titles of multi-level video progressives included Hot Shot Progressive Winning Times, All About Money y Golden Monkey. They also exhibited a wide range of

casino operation system solutions.

Octavian / eBet: Both exhibited their products together and released eBet's TIKIT +, as well as Octavian's gaming machine Maverick, shown for the first time in Asia.

Atronic: The German company was present through its regional distributor RGB. Among the developments exhibited we find King Kong Cash, a four-level linked gaming concept based in the famous movie, and presented in the exclusive e-motion cabinet.

GPI: It exhibited a new line of innovative plaques as well as a complete portfolio of gaming chips, both Bud Jones and Bourgogne et Grasset.

Shuffle Master: Exhibited a variety of poker products, for live tables as well as electronic ones, inside its multiple content distribution systems, such as Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Holdem and Casino War.

IGT: Following the concept of the company, “The Big Picture”, IGT exhibited 95 gaming machines, such as “Emperor's Choice”, a multi-level progressive with an Asian theme and multi-player Roulette and Baccarat products from M-P Series line.

Ainsworth Game Technology: The Australian firm released a new series of games for the Asian market, together with the appointment of its new Sales Manager for the region.

TCS John Huxley: The company has just inaugurated new offices in Macau, and within the event, it presented its Super Sic Bo table. The firm also exhibited one of the most modern solutions in RFID technology, el EurasiaTrak.

For 2008, G2E organizers plan to develop a bigger event with more exhibiting companies. The new exhibition center will bring a bigger space so exhibitors may showcase its novelties with more comfort. According to G2E Asia executives, next year the event will be performed on June 3-5.
