Only 14 % would quit smoking in order to continue playing

UK: Survey suggests smoking ban will hit bingo clubs harder than first thought

(UK).- A new survey by Internet gaming group St Minver has suggest that the forthcoming smoking ban in England will hit bingo clubs harder than had been feared, with one-in-10 players giving up playing in clubs altogether.

T

he group, which runs a number of Internet bingo websites, is hoping demand for its services will grow as the smoking ban prompts an exodus from clubs.

St Minver said its survey of over 3,000 bingo players also showed 63 per cent of smokers intend to spend more money on playing online once the ban is introduced in July.

According to the survey, only 14 percent of that figure said that they would quit smoking in order to continue playing in clubs.
