Through its acquisition of Interlott Technologies, Gtech has been providing ITVMs to the Massachusetts Lottery since 2001. The majority of the 3,050 ITVMs, which will be a combination of EDS-Q, GamePoint, and CDS machines, will replace machines already in the field with the remainder being placed in new locations.
The 24-bin EDS-Q, or Expandable Dispensing System Quad Burster, vending machine provides the most reliable dispensing system combined with the best visual display and the smallest footprint in the industry.
GamePoint, Gtech's combination instant ticket and online lottery product vending machine, offers simple push-button instant ticket selections and one-step, on-screen instructions for online lottery purchases.
The CDS, or Compact Dispensing System, vending machine will enable non-traditional outlets in Massachusetts, particularly social-space locations, to become more effective full-service lottery providers.
Since the ITVM bid was submitted in Massachusetts, Gtech has renamed its line of self-service terminals. The EDS-Q and CDS machines are now the Instant To Go 24 and Instant To Go 4, respectively, and the GamePoint machine is now called Lottery To Go.
The Massachusetts Lottery ranks first among worldwide lotteries in terms of instants per-capita sales, and third in instant ticket sales with more than us$ 3.1 billion in instant ticket sales in 2006.
